THE BEGINNING OF FOREVER
Aanya never believed in forever.
Not after watching her parents fall apart in silence. Not after learning that love wasn’t always loud—it was often quiet, fragile, and temporary.
But then she met Aarav.
It was an ordinary evening. The sky was painted in soft orange hues, and the wind carried the smell of rain. Aanya sat alone on a bench in the college garden, writing in her diary.
That’s when he appeared.
“Do you always look this serious while writing?” he asked with a smile that felt strangely familiar.
She looked up, slightly annoyed. “Do you always disturb strangers?”
He laughed softly and sat beside her. “Only the interesting ones.”
That was the beginning.
Days turned into conversations. Conversations turned into laughter. And laughter slowly turned into something Aanya had always been afraid of—love.
Aarav wasn’t perfect. But he was kind.
He remembered the smallest things:
How she liked her tea without sugar
How she hated loud places
How she smiled only when she truly meant it
And slowly, without realizing it, Aanya began to believe in forever.
One evening, under a sky full of stars, Aarav held her hand and said:
“Stay with me. Not for now… but always.”
Her heart hesitated.
But her soul said yes.
WHEN FOREVER STARTED BREAKING :
Love doesn’t always end suddenly.
Sometimes, it fades.
Aarav got a job in another city.
“It’s just for a while,” he said.
“Distance won’t change anything.”
Aanya smiled, but deep inside, she felt something shift.
At first, everything was the same:
Late night calls
Long messages
“I miss you” texts
But slowly…
Calls became shorter.
Messages became fewer.
And “I love you” started sounding like a habit.
Aanya tried to hold on.
“Are you okay?” she would ask.
“I’m just busy,” he replied.
Busy.
That one word became a wall between them.
Nights became heavier. She would stare at her phone, waiting. Hoping. Praying.
But the notifications never came.
One night, she finally asked:
“Are we still the same?”
There was silence.
Then a message appeared:
“I don’t know anymore…”
Her world stopped.
Love didn’t disappear that night.
But something inside her did.
THE GOODBYE THAT NEVER CAME :
Aanya kept waiting for closure.
For an explanation.
For a goodbye.
But Aarav never gave her one.
Days turned into weeks.
His messages stopped.
His calls never came.
And just like that… he was gone.
No fight.
No ending.
Just silence.
The kind of silence that screams.
Aanya read their old chats every night.
Every “I love you”
Every “forever”
Every promise that now felt like a lie
She wondered:
“Was it real… or was I just alone in loving him?”
Months passed.
She learned to smile again—but not the same way.
She learned to live—but not fully.
Because some love stories don’t end.
They just stay unfinished.
One evening, she returned to the same bench where it all began.
The sky looked the same.
The wind felt the same.
But Aarav wasn’t there.
And he never would be.
She closed her diary and whispered:
“You promised forever…
But you left without goodbye.”
A tear fell.
Not for him.
But for the version of herself that believed in forever.
